So Our dear Jack has spent the last 6 1/2 years of his life more obsessed with trains then anyone I know. He taught himself how to walk with a little toy train, He owns every train you can buy, He has read every book about trains, and he even lost his first tooth by tying a string to one of his model trains (http://jennyland76.blogspot.com/2009/08/big-news-from-loya-house.html)
So it is no wonder that in our house National train day ~in Jack's words~ "Is even bigger the Christmas"
This was our second year of attending and it did not disappoint, Like last year we took the Amtrak up to Union Station In L.A. My Mom and Dad joined us this year and we all had the best time.....We stayed all day and the little engineer had a blast. His smile never left his face all day!

Union Station is amazing...I could stay there all day, the energy is that place is crazy
Our train was an hour and a half late due to an earthquake...that made us late to a wedding...whoops!
