A realization of the personal kind

So I am currently reading a biography of a personal hero of mine... Photographer Dorothea Lange. I fell in love with her work ever since I saw it on exhibit at the Smithsonian in DC about 10 years ago. She captured so much more then just pictures.

Anyways, in the book they tell of how she was not such a great Mom to her two boys and how they resented her because she could never put her camera down and was not around too much.

Now, I will say I do take A LOT of pictures, but I have never let it take center stage.  Or so I thought.

That is until I saw this picture of Liam who had just fallen to the ground minus one shoe after struggling to free his foot from where it was stuck between two pumpkins.

... and I will now step away... slowly... from my camera.
